Rea is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in structural and therapeutic bodywork, with a strong emphasis on how the body moves, adapts, and responds to stress, injury, and every day activity. Her approach combines several techniques beyond soft tissue work that help to normalize function and range of motion in patients experiencing pain and dysfunction that is often unresponsive to other techniques.

Her treatments are individualized based on pattern assessment and may include soft tissue work, trigger point therapy, fascial and connective tissue mobilization, and both passive and active range of motion movements. While pain relief and relaxation are always part of the goal with any manual therapy technique, her primary focus is on restoring the proper function and movement of your body to give you greater awareness, comfort, and control.

Outside of work, Rea loves staying active with strength training, cooking, eating, and anything movement related. She also has an adorable dog named Xena, and is perpetually curious and learning about the human body, health, and how to help her patients feel and function better.

From her childhood, growing up in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Dr. Jolie always had a passion for physical activity and learning. These factors allowed her to travel and pursue a career in education, teaching both Spanish and English worldwide. This spirit of adventure and love of the outdoors eventually led her to Colorado. In this transition, she decided on a career change and followed another lifelong interest in healthcare. Dr. Jolie initially trained as a massage therapist and eventually chose to enroll in advanced studies in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Even before graduation, Jolie recognized the need for better integration of Eastern and Western philosophies and the need to make Eastern medicine concepts more accessible to both patients and physicians. She had the opportunity to address this need while initially working in a pain clinic, collaborating with Western physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists with great success in Colorado.

Education remains central in Dr. Jolie’s treatment approach. She strives to empower her patients with a deeper understanding of human health, what acupuncture can contribute, and where to find other areas of expertise to achieve their goals. Clinical modalities include gentle needling techniques, guasha, fire cupping, tuina, shiatsu, acupressure, myofascial release, electrostimulation, auriculotherapy, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations from Western and Eastern medical herbalism. Dr. Jolie specializes in orthopedic and sports medicine and has a strong clinical interest in women’s health. She has experience with fertility acupuncture, prenatal and postnatal massage, and menopause acupuncture treatments. Her doctoral work led her to specialize in treating traumatic brain injury, neuro-endocrine disorders, and post-concussion syndrome.
